For much of the time we've had Sully, he's been anxious. He was frightened to go outside our front door every single time my husband took him out to even get the mail. But going out the back door where there was a fence and it was familiar, he was self confident, not anxious, and playful.
He's been trained on the basics since we brought him home at 8 weeks old--potty training, sit, stay, paw, leave it, get it, and all those things. He loves to greet people when they come to the door, wagging his entire body, carrying something in his mouth, and "talking" to anyone to say "Welcome to our home! I missed you!" He's such a snuggle bug and just loves to love on you. He's very sweet and laid back and such a lovely part of our fur family.
When it is time to go anywhere in the van, aka: "The BIG tan monster in the driveway", we have to give him a full dropper of Nature's Ultra CBD, a couple drops of Valor above his tail, and Stress Away on his collar a half an hour before leaving. We also do this before taking him outside the front door.
Today, when I did all of the above with him, I took him and Ginger out on the "Y" leash about 15 minutes after giving him the above oils. I slowly walked to the end of our driveway, taking my time, being patient with him. He didn't want any of it and truly tried to come to the door of the house. I stood there with him and Ginger for a few minutes until a couple cars went by. Then we headed to the other corner of the yard where the corner of the streets meet. He was still very anxious and "twirling" as we walked.
Ginger was such a good girl about it all. All she wanted to do is walk. She has been a calming factor for him in times past, so we figured this would work well for him this time too.
We continued slowly walking to the other end of the yard when suddenly I could tell something was different. I surmised the CBD and oils were working since it was approximately the 30 minute mark since giving them to him.

We got to the other end of the yard and I had them sit to take everything in.
Then Sully decided to lay down.
I let them sit there for a few minutes, then I decided to try something out. There were some pieces of a tree branch that I thought I'd pick up and take to the road, just past the curb. I fully expected Sully to pull back toward the house, but when Ginger put her paws out on the road, Sully did too!
What an awesome time!!! I didn't expect it, but we were actually able to feasibly walk up the road about 50 feet! There was even a car that passed us! Anyway, I wanted to document this first video for ya all to see. I'll be posting updates every month or so, so I don't inundate ya'all with my crazy dog stories. LOL
In this video, Ginger is trying to stay by me, which is what I've taught her, but with Sully's anxiety, it's making it difficult for her to do that. I think next time we'll take my husband with us to get a little bit more settling for Sully. After I turned off the video, my husband came outside and they walked toward him in perfect alignment (the little goobers!). LOL
It's all a process. I hope to be able to take them to the beach soon! :)

How do you handle anxious dogs? Have you tried Nature's Ultra CBD, yet? Please share your experience in the comments below!
Have an awesome day!
