Whenever the heater comes on, the leaves fall from the trees, the fireplace roars, the hot tea or cocoa is poured, and the fuzzy blanket covers us during those chilly nights, it's time to think of our breathing too.
When the heater comes on, it dries the air, which in turn dries our sinuses. This makes way for all kinds of icky germs to attach to our dried sinus cavities and grow, blossoming in to an infection before we know it.
I have made it a routine for myself that once the air changes, I get my Neil Med nasal rinse out and do that once a day with purified water. There are little packets that come with it when you buy it or you can find these XLear packets to be helpful in keeping your sinuses clean. The great thing about them is they can be used twice a day. After I had sinus surgery in 2007, I used a saline type version of these and my Dr had me rinsing 3x/day. As usual, consult your physician before using.
Additionally, the diffusers not only come out, but get a good cleaning with alcohol on a paper towel, alcohol pads, and/or qtips to get in all those cracks and crevices to be sure it's clean. I have a diffuser for almost every room in my home. When the change of seasons occurs, I usually add Thieves Essential Oil Blend and a Citrus oil like Orange, Lemon, or Grapefruit. I set the diffusers in most used areas and beside my bed. That way we can get the most of the wonderful cleansing, healing properties of these wonderful God made essential oils!
I'd like to encourage you to look up the benefits of the oils that I mention in a google search, for example, "What are the benefits of Lemon Essential Oil?", "What are terpenes and what do they do?" Keep searching and if you have any questions, I'm always available!
I have a wonderful education group that I'd be happy to add you to so you can learn at your own pace, no pressure to buy anything, ever, I promise! Just come learn and gain an understanding about how all these products work and how to use them! We've shared some pretty neat hacks too! Who wouldn't want to learn more about using Thieves Hand Sanitizer in place of toxin filled mousse or hairspray?! :D
Have a wonderfully fantastic day!
